The Ragdoll breed dates back to the 1960's and was developed by a Californian woman by the name of Ann Baker. Ragdolls are a large, sweet, and laid-back breed of cats that make ideal indoor companions. They are playful  and get along very well with children and adults. They are named "Ragdolls" because of their tendency to loll in the lap of be carried around without resistance. The breed's special traits include a sweet temperament, beautiful coat, generous size and big blue eyes. The Ragdoll comes in four traditional pointed colors: seal, chocolate, blue and lilac-and three divisions: solid or colorpoint, mitted, and bicolor.
